Hi everyone,

Which IDE do you use when you are using Octave? Do you use a text
editor (like Emacs) and run Octave on a terminal for command-lone, or
is there some IDE that supports Octave I'm not aware of?

Thanks,

Uri

There is one called Octave Workshop:

http://www.math.mcgill.ca/loisel/octave-workshop/

however, it is not maintained. If you have an IDE that has command
shell panel (like ultra edit) then you can use it otherwise there is
none as far as I know -- I did search for it. I personally use
Epsilon (an Emacs clone) and run Octave from DOS in command shell
right in Epsilon; you can do the same thing in Emacs.

I don't think I'm going to try this Octave-workshop, I'm a linux user
but a newbie, and don't feel comftorable enough to compile the source
code.

OK, many thanks to both of you.

You can try koctave. It features an editor with syntax highlighting and a
help browser.

OTH, if you use emacs, there are several shell and editing enviroments.
